Saal im Haus der Bildung I Mülheimer Platz 1 I Bonn
Stefanie de Velasco is the current author in the Rhine Cultural Region. She has already been implementing her project Sustainable Storytelling from Bonn since 1 March.
In the winter of 2019/20, de Velasco went on strike in front of the Akademie der Künste Berlin for a fairer climate policy. This gave rise to her idea of building a residential bicycle out of scrap metal and riding it around the republic. Based on principles of action that conserve resources, she developed an aesthetic of the sustainable as an artistic practice. Cycling and writing, she wants to look at cities and landscapes along the Rhine “green”, connect with actors, trees and spaces. And search for a language that not only demonstrates the fragility of the conditions in the Anthropocene, but at the same time experiments with new cycles, new forms of existence and narratives.
The event will be moderated by Maren Jungclaus from the Literaturbüro NRW in Düsseldorf, which is hosting the stadt.land.text resident.
Admission: pre-sale 12€ / reduced 6€, box office 14€ / reduced 8€.
